Professor Ts Dr Cheah Yoke Kqueen, FASc.

Professor Ts Dr. Cheah Yoke Kqueen, a Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (FASc) is the Editor in Chief of Life Sciences, Medicine and Biomedicine.
Dr Cheah earned his BSc in Biomedical Science, an MSc in Molecular Biology followed by a PhD in Genetic Engineering and Molecular Biology completed in 2006. He has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Bioinformatics in 2018.
Dr Cheah currently serves as Deputy Director of the Centre for Industry Relations and Networks (CiRNeT), Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is a registered Chartered Scientist and Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science, United Kingdom. He is also a registered Chartered Biologist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, UK.
He is the current President of the Malaysian Biomedical Science Association and BiomedKL Association. He is an established scientist with more than 200 scientific publications, 5 patents, copyrights and won numerous awards in the research exhibitions. He has successfully led 15 research grants.
Dr Cheah was awarded the Top Research Scientist Malaysia in 2017, Best Postgraduate Supervision in 2015 by Universiti Putra Malaysia and the Young Researcher Award in 2008.

Associate Professor Dr Dayang Fredalina Basri
BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD
Associate Professor Dr Dayang Fredalina Basri currently heads the Research Centre for Diagnostic, Therapeutic & Investigative Studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She is also the Section Editor for Sains Malaysiana.
Dr Dayang obtained her BSc in Pharmacology (University of Aberdeen), MSc in Medicinal Chemistry (University of Sussex) and PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia).
She is an active member of professional bodies of the Malaysian Microbiology Society Malaysia Pharmacology and Physiology Society, Malaysian Natural Product Society and Germany Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA).
Dr Dayang’s main research achievement is in the extraction and pharmacology of natural products. She has been involved in the field of antimicrobial pharmacology for more than 25 years specifically in the field of pharmacology of natural product. Other contributions include the field of proteomic to investigate mechanistic pathway in her quest of cure in the development of novel antibiotic from natural sources for many non-communicable diseases such as colon cancer, skin cancer, hypertension and diabetes.

Associate Professor Dr Enoch Perimal
BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD, CSci, FIBMS
Dr Enoch Perimal is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is also a Visiting Scientist at the University of Adelaide, Australia.
He obtained his BSc in Biomedical Sciences, MSc in Pharmacology and Toxicology and PhD in Physiology from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Dr Enoch is a Chartered Scientist and Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, IBMS United Kingdom. Other memberships include Member of the Education Council, Federation of the Asian Oceanian Physiological Societies (FAOPS) and Member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP).
His research expertise is in the areas of physiology, neuroscience, neuropathic pain and drug discovery. With his research team, Dr Enoch investigates pain pathways using in vivo, in vitro and in silico models in addition to the identification and development of new molecules to help manage chronic pain. He also has vast experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes in higher education particularly involving medical and health sciences.

Professor Dr Ting Kang Nee
Pg Cert, BPharm (Hons), PhD
Professor Dr Ting Kang Nee is the Head of School of Pharmacy, Division of Biomedical Sciences, University of Nottingham, Malaysia.
She obtained her BPharm (Hons), PhD and PG Certificate in Higher Education from the University of Nottingham, UK. Her professional memberships include the UK General Pharmaceutical Council, Malaysia Pharmacy Board and Singapore Pharmacy Council.
Dr Ting Kang Nee’s research involves natural product pharmacology with the focus in drug discovery. Her team work on various derivatives obtained from natural products with interest in medicinal mushrooms. This includes studying the vascular and smooth muscles effects of these isolates for application in respiratory and vascular diseases. One of the main focus is studying the potential vasorelaxation effects of compounds isolated from local plant species and synthetic derivatives.
Dr Ting Kang Nee and team have completed an extensive project that generated the first scientific evidence to support the use of Lignosus rhinocerotis, a local medicinal mushroom, in the treatment of asthma. Other work involve investigating the potential use of Cordycep sinensis, a popular traditional Chinese medicine, for the treatment of overactive bladder. Other collaborative projects include using plant metabolites as cytotoxic agents against methicillin resistant Staphyloccocus aureus (MRSA) and cancers.
